Finding bugs
If a program does not do what you expected, go through it line by line and look at the variables. Error messages appear in English, with the line to click on.
Simple mode
| Single step (→) | The arrow button next to “Run” starts the program paused before the first line. Every further press runs one line. |
| Breakpoint | Click to the left of the line number: the program stops there. Another click removes it. |
| Variables | The “Variables” card shows the values, also while the program runs, split into global and local (inside functions). |
| Stop (■) | Ends the program, even an endless loop – the page never freezes. |
Expert mode
| F5 | Run, or continue to the next breakpoint; ⇧ F5 starts step by step. |
| F10 (Over) | Next line; a function runs in one go. |
| F11 (Into) | Into the called function, also into other files of the project. |
| ⇧ F11 (Out) | Let the current function run to its end. |
| Call stack | Shows which function called which. Lists and dictionaries in the variables can be opened. |
